ESL Writing Positions

The Department of English at Purdue University invites applications for Continuing Lecturers for the ESL Writing Program (3 positions available).

We welcome applications from candidates with a demonstrated interest in teaching ESL writing at the college level. The primary duties for each of the three Continuing Lecturer positions we seek to fill include teaching three sections of ENGL 10600-I (Introductory Composition for International Students) per semester. Other duties may involve curriculum and materials development, administrative work, and mentoring new instructors in the program. Successful applicants will have an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (MATESL) or in a related field, and will have previous teaching experience, preferably in ESL courses. Some administrative experience is desirable but not required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with international students or in international settings.

Continuing Lecturers at Purdue are part of the permanent teaching staff, receive full-time salary during the academic year, and are eligible for medical and retirement benefits.
