New Instructor Positions in ASU Writing Programs

Position Announcement: Instructor in Composition and Rhetoric (10 positions). Beginning August 2013

Required: MA in Rhetoric and Composition or related discipline; minimum of three years of post-secondary teaching experience in composition; evidence of effective teaching.

Desired: Evidence of graduate coursework in Rhetoric and Composition, Second Language Writing theory, Basic Writing theory, and/or Professional Writing theory; Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or related discipline; evidence of  theoretical grounding in writing studies and pedagogy in one or more of the following areas, in addition to related teaching experiences: second language writing, writing in the disciplines/English for academic purposes, developmental writing, workplace writing; evidence of participation in rhetoric/composition conferences or other relevant professional development;  evidence of experience teaching multimedia composing or  internet and hybrid courses.

General Information: Teach four courses/semester in Rhetoric and Composition. Nine-month appointment.

Submit: Letter of application; vita; 1 page statement of teaching philosophy; 3 letters of recommendation about teaching ability; unofficial graduate transcripts; and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Deadline: April 15, 2013 ; if not filled, the first of the month thereafter until search is closed.  Search closes no later than August 1, 2013.
